Spain
in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009
The Spanish entry brings up the important political issue of vampires with the song "The night is for me". It is written by three Swedish songwriters with the traditional viking names Irini Michas, Dimitri Stassos and Jason Gill. To even it out a bit they threw in a Felipe Pedroso as well. He's not Swedish, but rumours say he has Greek roots.
Soraya, born 1982 in Extremadura, is the biggest name Spain has sent to Eurovision since Rodolfo Chikilicuatre. She has changed her hairstyle and haircolour more times than Cher in a wig boutique, but settled for a short blond mop for the Spanish national final, which she won after a tie-break rule had to be used.
