Useful Information About United Kingdom

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is a constitutional monarchy that takes up most of the largest archipelago off the European continent.

Beginning the late 15th Century, England voyaged to exotic lands to establish the British Empire (yaaaaay \o/). Helped by the Industrial Revolution, they were able to colonise vast territories (yaaaaay \o/) and enslave millions of Indians (yaaaaay \o/), native Americans (yaaaaay \o/) and Africans (yaaaaay \o/). Closer to home, they forced the annexation of Scotland (yaaaaay \o/) and caused mass famine in Ireland (yaaaaay \o/).

Since the mid 20th Century, most of the colonies have gained independence, however they maintain close ties in a wonderful organization called the Commonwealth (YAAAAAY \o/\o/). They meet every four years for the Commonwealth Games (YAAAAAY \o/\o/) where England can beat Bermuda in Heptathlon (YAAAAAAAAY \o/\o/).

They've won the Eurovision Song Contest five times (YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY!!! \o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/).

(ok, they actually did quite a few good things and had significant cultural achievements that truly matter, but they're nothing to yay about)
