Spain 2011

Lucía Pérez - "Que me quiten lo bailao"
Composed by: Rafael Artesero Herrero

Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011

No longer myspace.com selection, RTVE decided to copy the selection process of Azerbaijan, having nobodies sing past Eurovision songs.

Three lucky candidates made the final on 18 February. Each sang 3 songs, the expert jury would select one for each for the public televote.

During that phase, there was a tie between two songs of the eventual winner, Lucía, both with 12 jury votes. Lucia was asked her opinion, she wanted "Abrázame" to proceed, the audience voted for Vinzzent, but alas, the jury re-consulted the situation and chose "Que me quiten lo bailao" by Rafael Artesero, of Andorran fame.

Lucia won the final with a convincing 68%, and will sing in Germany a song that she didn't want to perform, with a title impossible to translate.
