Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013

We never know what to expect when RTBF is in charge of selecting the Belgian entry, and yet again they tried a different approach. Roberto Bellarosa was selected internally, and told to get up early a Sunday morning and struggle his way through three songs before he got given a cup of coffee.

Roberto did his best to make us believe the winning song is called "Love gives", but maybe he'll be able to convince us otherwise when he gets to perform it at more godly hours in May.

History of Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest

Not known to bother the ESC scoreboard, Belgium has plodded through almost every contest, only missing out 3 times and those times were due to relegation. Their two broadcasters haven't too much to show for their alternating efforts beyond the 1986 win and a second place grab in 2003.

One of Belgium's iconic participants, Pas De Deux, who brought us the immortal Rendez-vous in 1983, actually submitted 3 songs to that year's selection process, one of them being this keeper:
